Paint tier selection
Use the paint-ROI tool. For tier 1-2 cars, matte or gloss is the only sensible choice. For tier 3+, move up to metallic. For tier 5 collectors, pearl unlocks the OEM paint badge.
Color choice surcharge
White is baseline. Black adds a small multiplier. Primary colors add more. Premium custom hex adds 10% — only when you have the OEM badge gamepass.
Repair-then-paint vs paint-then-repair
If paint cost is more than 10% of total repair, repair first. Otherwise, paint first protects the fresh coat from under-hood grime.
